Chapter 18

Troy paced through the waiting area of the ER. He had it in his mind to annihilate Gary until there was none left of him. He had been thinking all night of what Amara could possibly have done for Gary to shoot her in the back. It was surreal to him.

He was burning up inside not knowing if his wife was gonna live or die. This situation was driving him insane. He couldn't think straight. He didn't know whether to cry or be outraged. He had to force himself to bear with it all and be strong for his wife.

Taliyah walked into the ER, immediately spotting Troy with a menacing expression on his face and blood all over his shirt with a lot going through his mind. She knew right at that moment that this wasn't good for her. This was confirmation that it was Amara who had been shot.

Troy went rushing his 6" 1" figure over to Taliyah with both of his fist bald. She paused not knowing if he was going to attack her or not. She faced the music and prepared for Troy's rant as she stood solid.

"We gotta talk...right now, outside," Troy spoke with clinched teeth as he brushed past her to head outdoors. He didn't give Taliyah a chance to speak the minute she opened her mouth. She knew that he was beyond pissed. Yet devastated. Troy continued his hasty pace the moment they stepped outside of the building while walking toward the parking lot. He added. "Your fuckin' boyfriend of yours...is a dead man! That's my word!"

"You mean my ex...Boyfriend," Taliyah respond correctly offensively. Taliyah was angered for Troy even mentioning the douchbag. She was as fired up as much as Troy was experiencing. She wanted Gary dead by all means.

"What the fuck ever! It's over for that nigga! He shot my wife?!" Troy barked in an aggressive tone out of anger that had overridden him. “And what fucks me up even more is to hear that Kia was with him when it happened!”

So, it was Gary then? Taliyah thought during her thinking process. "Troy, I'm so sorry this happened to Amara. That's my sister too. That muthafucka been dead to me since the day he showed up at my house," Taliyah felt bad for Troy and Amara. She couldn't go on without this being unsettled. She was destined for revenge soon or later.

"Why?! Why would he come into my house...and shoot my wife in the back for?" Troy needed some answers.

"My only guess is that he came looking for me for something he can't get."

To hear her sister Kia’s name had burned a hole in her heart even wider. “Janet is in on the scheme too. I aint even tell you what shady shit she done to me."

“Janet?" Troy was shocked of her mentioning Janet's name. “Janet too?”

Troy had remembered inviting them all over for card games and fish fry occasion. Even went out on weekend retreat trips. For all he knew, Amara, Kia, Janet, and Taliyah were all close.
